Vickie began her career in Boston at TERC, a nonprofit educational research organization specializing in K–12 math and science education, where she created illustrations and brochures for elementary curriculum pilot programs and contributed to the organization's quarterly newsletter. This experience shaped her understanding of how purposeful design can help organizations communicate effectively and reach their audiences.
Vickie relocated to Washington, D.C., in 1996, when she joined the National Association for Home Care (NAHC) as a Graphic Designer, where she honed her publication design skills through magazines, newsletters, and other member communications produced by NAHC.
Vickie went on to hold senior design positions with Discovery Communications, Martin-Schafer Advertising, and the Consumer Technology Association. Throughout her career, she has designed a wide range of print and digital communications, including magazines, newsletters, annual reports, logos, event materials, marketing collateral, and press kits for nonprofits, associations, media organizations, agencies, and corporate clients. These experiences have shaped her thoughtful approach to design and provided a strong creative foundation.
In 2001, Vickie launched Vickie Spindler Graphic Design, VSGD, an Arlington, Virginia-based studio serving associations, nonprofits, and educational institutions. VSGD has partnered with clients to create intentional and strategic design solutions that communicate complex information with clarity and visual impact.
VSGD specializes in complex publication design formats, infographics, marketing and event materials, logos, and digital graphics. Every project is approached with careful attention to typography, color, imagery, accessibility, and data visualization, ensuring each design is both engaging and effective.
Known for her collaborative style, exceptional project management, and ability to deliver high-quality work under demanding deadlines, Vickie helps organizations translate their ideas into polished, purposeful communications that inform and achieve results.
